Lifting the Word Until Christ Returns!

The Israelites passed through the Red Sea. They are confused and mostly complain. They had time to complain about the lack of food and water. The Torah is still in the future. And here a lot of troubles stirred up over the people.

And Amalek came and fought against Israel. What to do?

Don't worry. Moses is there. Don't give up!

And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us men. Moses sent Joshua to fight against Amalek. In the face of an armed attack, one must respond with military force. Joshua will fight the battle. And tomorrow will come the turning point.

Moses: “Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill, and the staff of God will be in my hand.”

Joshua will fight below and Moses will stand on the top of the hill. And not just for pleasure, but with a special measure. Thirst for God!

The staff that inflicted the plagues on Egypt. That divided the Red Sea. That will bring water out of the rock.

Joshua did as Moses commanded. Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. The war in the valley was still going on in full force.

When Moses raised his hands, Israel prevailed. When he lowered his hands, Amalek prevailed. It was as simple as that. But Moses' hands became heavy.

Moses is not young. He left Egypt at the age of 80. That's the age to raise grandchildren!

What to do? Israel's victory depends on the distance between Moses' hands and the ground.

Aaron and Hur placed a stone for him to sit on. First, rest. Then they supported his hands. Aaron was 83 years old, and Hur was also elderly.

But Moses sitting made it easier to support himself. Moses' hands remained raised until sunset.

Result: Joshua weakened Amalek and his people with the sword. A crushing victory!

The lesson: Moses' uplifted hands secured victory. His persistence was essential.

Yahweh-Nissi

“A hand was lifted up before the throne of the LORD; from generation to generation the LORD will fight against the Amalekites.”
Exodus 17:15

Like Moses, Jesus also raised his hands on a tree to give salvation to humanity!

Today we are called to do the same: we will raise the banner of the Gospel of Jesus Christ until He returns!

Lifting the Word Until Christ Returns!

Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

The eagle is the longest-lived bird of its species. It can live up to 70 years, but at 40 it needs to renew itself. Its claws, beak and feathers become ineffective. It flies high into the air, pulls off its own beak and claws, and removes old feathers. After 150 days, it is reborn to live another 30 years.

In the Bible, eagles symbolize strength, victory, and God’s care. They fly high and tirelessly. They build nests where no predator can reach. God is compared to the eagle that protects with its wings (Deut. 32:10-12).

Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength...”

The symbolism of the eagle in this verse is profound: strength, vision, and height. Just as the eagle trusts the wind, believers trust the Lord. True strength comes from dependence on Him.

Let us wait patiently on the Lord. Like the eagle, we can soar and find renewed strength every day.
